with music by Thistledown
Join us at Olivet Congregational Church (1850 Iglehart Ave, St. Paul MN) for an afternoon of fun, beginner-friendly* dances, live music, and light refreshments. The dance will be followed by a potluck dinner at the home of a member.
Live music will be provided by Thistledown: Anne Benson (Flute, hammer dulcimer), Sherry Ladig (piano), Pat O’Loughlin (squeezebox, percussion, etc.), and Ken Steffenson (fiddle).
Attending your first Scottish country dance ball? Here’s some tips on SCD etiquette and what to expect at a ball. Please be aware that at our events we use non-gendered role terms when recapping dances, i.e. “larks” and “robins”, when role terms are necessary. We will remind folks what those terms mean and are happy to help explain and clarify dance instructions as needed.
Please be aware of and prepared to comply with the RSCDS-Twin Cities Branch COVID-19 Safety Policy Please bring a mask and be prepared to wear it if requested.
