27-29 March 2020 Madison 43rd Annual Ball Weekend
The John Muir (Wisconsin) Branch will host a ball weekend with music by Ed Pearlman, fiddle, and Neil Pearlman, piano. The weekend includes a ball with dinner on Saturday night, a Friday evening concert with Ed and Neil, complete with dessert buffet, and a Saturday morning Cape Breton step dance workshop with Neil.
1-3 May 2020 Central Iowa Spring Ball Weekend
The RSCDS Central Iowa Branch will host their annual ball in the Iowa State University Memorial Union with music provided by Terpsichore -- Elke Baker (fiddle) and Liz Donaldson (piano).
12-24 June 2020 Midwest Scottish Weekend
The Midwest Scottish Weekend is an annual workshop and ball weekend held at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, WI. Teachers are Sharon Barker of Calgary and Alan Twhigg from San Francisco. Music will be provided by Canadians Laura Risk (fiddle), Nicholas Williams (piano) and Baltimorean Ralph Gordon (cello). Hosted by the Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee Scottish Country Dance Groups. The weekend includes a welcome dance on Friday night, a formal ball on Saturday night, and classes on Saturday and Sunday. Scholarship assistance is available.
