22 May 2017 Performance Repertoire Preview
Here's a chance to get a preview of the new performance repertoire dances. We'll run the evening like a social dance, so feel free to join us even if you are not planning on performing with the Branch this year. 7:30pm Tapestry Folkdance Center..
5 June 2017 Book 52 Dance Testing
The RSCDS has asked for our help evaluating dances that have been submitted for possible publication in forthcoming book 52. We've been sent a mystery batch to try. Who knows? Among them could be the next branch favorite! You'll only know if you join us and give your feedback. NOTE: Most dances we have been sent are at the intermediate level or above. 7:30pm at Tapestry Folkdance Center.
12 June 2017 Fun and Easy Social Dancing
Janet McKernan will lead an evening of easy and familiar dances for your enjoyment 7:30pm at Tapestry Folkdance Center.
19 June 2017 Book 52 Dance Testing and/or Experienced Social Dancing
We'll finish up testing any book 52 dances we didn't get to on June 5th and use the rest of the time to try some other interesting dances Lara Friedman-Shedlov has come across over the past few months. 7:30pm at Tapestry Folkdance Center.
24 June 2017 Yorkk Gardens Performance
The Branch will perform at 2pm at the York Gardens residence in Edina. Contact Hannah Wells (performances [at] rscds-twincities.com) for more information.
26 June 2017 Something Different: Turning Skills for Party Dances
And now for something completely different! Fer Horn will lead an evening of ceilidh (party) dances that incorporate some kind of turning with your partner, like waltzing, polkaing or birling. Don't worry, she'll teach you how to waltz, polka or birl too. 7:30pm at Tapestry Folkdance Center.
7 July 2017 Performance Repertoire Rehearsals Begin
In preparation for the upcoming Minnesota Rennaissance Festival and other performances in 2017-2018, rehearsals of the new performance repertoire will be held 7:30 to 9:30pm on Mondays (at Tapestry Folkdance Center) and Fridays (at Jawaahir Minneapolis Dance Studio) through Monday, August 14th. »More details about rehearsals and participating in RenFest
