Come and enjoy an evening of social dancing. The program just happens to be our new performance repertoire. You don't need to be planning to perform with the branch to come, but this is a great opportunity to get a sneak peek at the dances we'll be rehearsing starting in July.
Note that dances will be in a different order than they appear in the repertoire and may be danced as originally written (not with special performance endings).
This year's Midwest Scottish Weekend will be held at Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. The dates are June 7-9, 2024.
Teachers this year are Arthur McNair (Pittsburgh) and Jennifer Reiner (Phoenix) and music will by Terpsichore (fiddler Elke Baker, pianist Liz Donaldson, and bassist Ralph Gordon). There's welcome dance on Friday evening and a ball on Saturday, a ceilidh on Saturday, and plenty of time for socializing.

As part of our summer series, Janet McKernan will teach a class on SCD basics that will help you understand how to learn dances more quickly and dance them more smoothly.
Did you know that the RSCDS Twin Cities Branch has published three books of dances and that members have devised many other dances? As part of our summer series, Lara Friedman-Shedlov will teach a number of these dances.
As part of our summer series, Chandi McCracken-Holm will teach a few of those classic dances that "everyone" knows. Some of them haven't been taught in our group for a while, so now's your chance to learn!
Rehearsals of the 2024-2025 performance repertoire begin Monday July 8th and continue on Mondays and Fridays through Monday, August 12th. Rehearsals are for anyone who is planning to perform with the RSCDS-TC branch during the next year. Consult email messages or contact the RenFest coordinators (renfest [at] rscds-twincities.org) for details and location information.
